Great little series of character observations in a throwaway style, richly worded, especially impressive considering MacJoyce is more at ease with his formal poetry.

I really enjoyed this, too. I think the choice of names adds something - it reminds me of Rowan Atkinson's schoolmaster routine where he's reading out a register of absurd surnames.

I really do like the idea you outlined about 'rhyming' images - it's a great way to have structure without rigid rules, and I'm guessing it's helped the transition from strict form to free verse.
