two poems about jam by poetjude

I really like both these poems. I like the opening of raspberry jam...
When I stayed with you I noticed the stars
City lights had drowned in the anonymity of supermarket brands
Choking with bland fingers
and
Raspberries thrust fat thumb-ball bodies
into existence
and then in blackberry and apple jam, I really like the middle section, really nice rhythm...
It was a strange brand of sadness because
the lapwings hadn't yet arrived whilst the dragonflies
departed and in that lifeless grief he carried the
blackberries home
as well as me.
All scratched and nettle stung and
sucking purpled thumb.
A lovely read for a pottering saturday morning, thanks Jude,
