ABCtales Magazine - Issue 1

Issue #1 of the new online ABCtales magazine is now available from:

www.etribes.com/abctales(link is external)

It's the best of ABCtales.com as voted by its members. Congratulations to the authors of all the pieces included, there's some really great stuff in there. Go check it out!

Issue #2 will be out this time next month. This issue is really just about putting the best stories and poems in, but in the future I'm looking to develop the layout and include more features. Please do email me with thoughts and suggestions.

Also, if you have a website and would like it linked from the Etribes ABCtales site, please email me the link and I'll put it up.

Cheers
Ben

i've just had a quick look, loved reading the biogs behind some of the names on here. I will print it out later and have a proper read then take it into work and leave in the staffroom for others to enjoy. Well done Enzo for all the hardwork and congrats to the writers featured, and to Tony for always listening to the community. Juliet (Jealous, me?)

I would like to carefully point out that there are several errors in the texts that should be corrected before publishing, mostly typos that would be easily overlooked if you were staring at it for hours on end. Otherwise, it looks great! And congrats to the authors, all of 'em, for jobs well done.
As a new member on the site I enjoyed seeing this as for pointing me towards writers I might like. Funny the interview with fergal, without saying anything about his writing on the site...but I suppose I can now go and look at what he has on here. I think a lot of work has gone into this and it looks good. And that poem by spack is sensational. Joey.
Even funnier is that he is actually a she!
A great effort - thankyou Ben for all your hard work. Now onwards and upwards to Issue No. 2. Congrats to all chosen - and be beholden to Ben!
Yo. Nice one Ben; it looks ace. Thanks for all your hard work on it. Cheers, Joe

Thanks. As some of you will know, I'm completely new to this kind of work, and it's a steep learning curve. I welcome the constructive comments made by AG and Joe Glass. AG - you're right, staring at something for hours on end eventually means one loses a sense of what it is one is reading - I'd be much obliged if you could spare the time in future to give a quick once over pre-publication (I understand if you don't have the time - but you're right, it needs more eyes than my own on it). As I said, it's a steep learning curve. I hope to improve the look, feel, layout and everything else as months pass. I'm doing this voluntarily, but not altruistically, I feel that I am learning something completely new and hope to continue to improve. Ben
Ben, I'd be more than happy to comb over it as a second pair of eyes. Let me know what I need to do. AG
Good work Ben. It looks great. And I'm not saying that because I'm happy to be writer of the month. Wahoo. How exciting. Well done everyone feature, and here's to more.
I agree that it looks really professional. It's also easy to read. One thing I'd say is that the logo on the front and the footers on each page seem a little squished. Thanks for the feedback Jon. The logos should be in preportion to the full size jpeg I got from Tony, but I'll check them out. Cheers Ben
