But it's an interesting point, and in my view not a trivial one.
It suggests that the majority of Big Brother voters did not vote along lines of religion - or for that matter colour.
Incidentally, I think I am right in saying this is the first time a non-white contestant has come first or second in either version of the show - celebrity or nonentity.
So all in all an encouraging result.

On the last point, one would hope the nation as a whole, but in particular the British press, can take a substantial leaf out of her book. Even after witnessing the things that were said about her behind her back, Shilpa was able to forgive those who subjected her to the bullying and victimisation (racist or otherwise), and say that it was now "ancient history." As one of the audience members in "Big Brother's Big Mouth" said, "Give peace a chance!" - which is, of course, the proper way to deal with anger and hatred, rather than responding with further anger and hatred... She has set such a good example... Sadly, though, the British press being what it is, I fear that their continued response to the whole thing will not be as Shilpa would wish it to be...
I do, however, maintain a smidgen of hope that this kind of thing can go some small way towards bettering humanity's treatment and attitudes towards itself...
