Borat... love it or loathe it?

I didn't like it. It had a few funny moments where we can have a good ole chuckle at the Yanks but all in all I thought it a poor effort. Ali G was funny before people worked out he was a spoof. Some of those early interviews are still very funny. But everything SBC has done since is a bit lame IMO.

Oh, I loved it, especially the 'extra' scenes on the DVD. "You can finish him?" *guffaw* It was totally cringeable in places, especially as I went to school with several people bearing remarkable similarities to some of the idiots in the film; but in some ways I found even this to be funny. On the other hand, it is a *real* misrepresentation of Americans, and I wince to think of how this will influence the general global view of us Yanks. Can't be pretty. I still chuckle about the naked wrestling, however. Stupid film? Absolutely. Would I see it again? Probably not. Did I enjoy it? You bet!
Not see it yet. But I have seen Ali G a few times :@) When the power of love overcomes the love of power, we'll find peace. - Jimi Hendrix

I loved it. It was one of those movies where the fact that it is so damn stupid and ridiculous is what makes it so funny. ___________________________________ To my KAIROS Brothers and Sisters: Doubt, Cry, Trust, and Live! KAIROS LX forever!
It was decent. Really really overated imo, had some great moments of satire but too often resorted to gross out Jackass style humor to appeal to the teenage crowd (wtf am I saying? I'm a teen, but you know what I mean) The naked wrestle was still funny, but second time around not so much. I thought maybe it was cuz I saw Stranger Than Fiction with it back to back, and thus made borat look like crap. But second timew I saw it it was still average.

Give me the beat boys and free my soul! I wanna getta lost in ya rock n' roll and drift away. Drift away...

would agree that is overrated. borat worked as small bits within a sketch show. in something the length of a film he could/should have done more and was maybe lazy. Ali G Indahouse drew on what was there and fleshed it. perhaps tho with Borat there aren't ready references to flesh out with and we need some familiarity. Funny as owt like but a little disappointing. ight? peace and chips. Mikey i just want a place i can call my own
