Phantom Comments!
Hello all, I'm new to ABC tales and eager to get stuck into what looks like a really strong, productive community. I've already got one story posted (with plenty more to come), and as I understand it, the best way to gather interest for one's own writing is to comment on others'. I'm completely onboard with this - writing communities should be more than just a choir of ego-trips, and if I'm looking for others' interest and feedback then the least I can do is offer my own interest and feedback in return.
However, I've already tried to comment on several pieces, and the comments haven't appeared yet. Every time I post, I'm told that the comment is going to be checked before its authorised. Now, I generally give constructively critical feedback, pointing out what I see as positives, flaws and areas for improvement in stories. I try to be as pleasant and curteous as possible - never insulting, never degrading - so I don't think the checking process is blowing my comments out of the water on that ground. Can anyone offer any wisdom? Does it just take an age and a half for the comments to go through?
Many thanks, and hope to read some of your works soon!
Natalia :)
