I started reading this piece, yesterday night just before I left work, not having acess to the internet at home, I decided to print it and read it on the tube. So engrossed was I, that when I reached the last page I was a bit confused. Self critical person that I am, I then started calling myself an idiot for not having printed the entire thing....only to get to work today and find out, that WAS the entire thing!

It's excellent and brave. I think that I'm honest with my writting but nothing prepared me for your piece and its reality and honesty.

I'm very greatful for the dark that I have seen, but even more greatful for the dark that I have not. It could have been ten times worse. Your piece humbled me.

I particularly liked the way in which you were so honest about our own selfish needs of saving somebody else. Reality sometimes is so many times weirder than fiction.

So, may I ask kindly for the rest? What happend to Mark and to you?

I also found this great, right to the end. Will there be more?
it certainly feels real and that's very difficult for a piece set in such an alien world to most readers so very well done indeed. I was really impressed by your building of Mark's character, it was genuine and felt right without being a stereotype etc but I suppose that's what writing from life gives you, I'd rather draw a portrait then have to invent a new face. some of the dialect in the dialogue lost me at times and it seemed a bit squashed. I'd rather see the speech seperated onto lines and a bit less of an accent to help me keep the speed of reading and not slow it down, that and a few spelling mistakes/missing words apart it was a genuinely absorbing read and I can't wait for the next installment- especially after an opening hook like that one.

My Life Oy Vey is now my favorite collection on this site. Along with Drew's 'itunes' series (although very different), I think this is the best ABCTales has to offer in terms of autobiographical work. Styx, this piece is, as always, powerful and humbling.
