Syndication Agents

As I mentioned in another thread, I've been reading "Creative Writing" by Adele Ramet. She mentioned something called Syndication Agents, which I have to confess to not having heard of before - being the kind of agents that a writer of short stories may employ to syndicate their work simultaneously to numerous potential buyers. I was therefore wondering... does anyone here know of any good syndication agents? Or any good sources of information regarding such?
