RD the ones your on about are the best ones for hiking boots, though of course it depends where you're hiking. personally I wear 100% cotton but that's cause i always wear trainers.

Cotton is a No-No for outdoors. They stay wet, they wear out too quickly and they cause blisters.
Are trainers just regular store sneakers? I love how when somethings name changes and it sounds more athletic, then they can jack the price up.
in England they call them trainers, always have, I forget you yanks have a different tongue. But I guess we don't call em sneakers cause we aint always sneaking around.

At Christmas I got a pack of 7 pairs, with the days of the week on the soles. I have become obsessive about wearing the correct pair for the day,
I worry about me.
Monday's socks are full of holes,
Tuesday's socks for scoring goals,
Wednesday's socks are slippered and chaste . . .

Monday's socks are full of holes,
Tuesday's socks for scoring goals,
Wednesday's socks are slippered and chaste
Thursday's socks put on in haste
Friday's socks caress the toes
Saturday's socks offend the nose
But Sunday's socks are woolly and sleek
A treat for feet to end the week.
Maundy Thurdsday socks removed for foot cleaning
Good Friday socks for Calvary's pain
Holy Saturday socks for waiting in vain
But Easter Sunday socks ...
oh can't be bothered with rhyming today!
