This is a wicked piece. Very short, but packs lots of stuff in. Favourite bit? Probabyl

My favourite was the middle stanza, too. Awesome title, to boot. The world needs more short, punchy poems. Two questions: first, is 'evening' the right verb there? It felt a bit ungainly to me, and its ambiguity with the thing that comes between afternoon and night doesn't add anything, for me. Would 'aligning' sound too clinical? Second, could someone unpack the last stanza for me? I enjoyed the language, but I wasn't sure what was going on.
I'll fully confess the last stanza makes no logical sense to me, but having just been indoctrinated with a semestersworth of postmodernism, I've lost the urge for clear-cut tales and closure. I think I agree on "evening", not because of its ambiguity, but because it needs a shorter, spikier, more staccato word there. K x "I have a room for life at the Home for the Chronically Groovy."

can someone unpack all of it? I think i got the jist of the first stanza - but reading it and reading it still leaves me confused. i think i like it? Juliet
