Chapter Length
Just curious, but do literary agents expect chapters of regular length or are irregular ones acceptable? I am re-writing Book Four somewhat, but my chapters keep varying between about seven and four pages long at the moment, and am not sure if this would be acceptable for a novel.
It's not important, as far as I'm aware.

Well, Andrey Kurkov does all right with some very short chapters.
If your chapters are only a few hundred words it might be best to send an agent a few chapters.
I'm sure it makes no odds at all - just send around 5,000 words and they will get as far as they want!
Oh - and send a synopsis and a really good covering letter. It's often the letter that gets the extract read.
Best of luck!
Well, that's a relief :) Thanks!
