Strange food

OK, this is about normal food in an abnormal and disorientating context, stemming from a discussion which was threatening to clog up a perfectly literary space.

Mine is a proper cream tea (Cornish clotted cream etc) served up on a United Airlines flight somewhere over Louisiana (economy class - nothing fancy).

Penandpaperdreams mentioned a BigMac on a beach on Christmas Day.

Any others?

chili and parsley pesto with cheese on homemade bread with steamy Thermos coffee in the forest a cold winters morning just after the snow has fallen, sitting on a log of course.
Sushi in Moscow
Ship's corned beef, left as a present by a British sailor, in Bandar Shahpur, southern Iran, 1972. We couldn't get it, and he knew my dad was very fond of it.
curry sandwitches for breakfast in a cold mountain hut :)
