New Writing Comp

I received this today and think it might be of interest to many of you:

I am writing to you regarding the 2011-12 Creative Writing Competition run jointly by the English-Speaking Union, the National Galleries of Scotland and the Scottish Poetry Library, which may be of interest to some of your writers. In previous years the competition has received generous coverage in the national press.

The competition requires entrants to write either a poem or prose piece inspired by one of the works in the collection of the National Galleries of Scotland. There are 5 categories of entrants and the winning entries in each category will be published in the Scotsman newspaper. We have now produced three books with winning entries from the first six years of the competition. Last year we received over 900 entries and we hope that this year’s competition will be even bigger!

Our aim is to make the competition as widely accessible as possible to ALL people living in the UK. Many of the works in the NGS collection can be seen on their website. If you are unable to access the images through the website then please do get in touch and we will try to help. I have pleasure in attaching the rules, which provide more information, and the details are also on our website http://www.esuscotland.org.uk .

Now having checked the link I think you might find it easier to go straight here:

Cheers,
Tony!
