GEE, IM NEW,BUT I DONT GET THE DONT TREAD ON OTHER PEOPLES DREAMS PHILOSOPHY. REVIEWS SHOULD BE ABOUT HONESTY. HOW DOES THE REVIEWER HONESTLY FEEL ABOUT THE STORY OR POEM. HONESTY IS CONSTRUCTIVE. WHETHER IT IS INTERPRETED AS BRUTAL OR "NICEY-NICE ".IT IS EMOTION IN THE EYE OF THE REVIEW READER.
I THINK, THE REVIEWER SHOULD,AND IS ALMOST OBLIGATED, TO HONESTLY STATE WHAT THE STORY OR POEM HAS FELT TO THEM-AT A GUT LEVEL.THE REVIEWER SHOULD NOT THINK ABOUT THE AUTHOR WHO COULD BE A PERFECT PERSON.
BUT, IS THE STORY PERFECT ? PROBABLY NOT. JUST CONVEY TO THE PEOPLE OF THE CLOUD HOW YOU REALLY, HONESTLY FELT ABOUT THE STORY. WHAT DID IT DO FOR YOU?

I agree that honest reviews are better, but if I had reviews all in caps it would feel like I was being SHOUTED AT! No matter how complimentary they were.
Also, not sure what this cloud is?
But essentially I'm 'happy' to have my dreams trodden on if it helps me improve my writing.

Since the internet started way back in the 80s UPPER CASE is regarded as shouting and is frowned upon as being rude.
It's a good idea to stop doing it.

THANKS TERRY, BUT SINCE 1980 I WORKED WITH A VISION CHALLENGED PROGRAM AND WE RESEARCHED CAPS VRS NON - CAPS . WE FOUND THAT IN THE MILITARY, JUST AS ONE EXAMPLE , CAPS WOULD CREATE FASTER RECOGNITION OF IMPORTANT, LIFE SAVING ORDERS.ALSO, BETTER COMPREHENSION AND LESS CONFUSION.
IT IS ALSO OFTEN PREFERRED BY ACCOUNTANTS AND TAX PROFESSIONS THAT DO NOT WANT TO WASTE TIME SHIFTING.
I,PERSONALLY, FIND IT STRANGELY INCONCEIVABLE THAT OF ALL PEOPLE, CREATIVE WRITERS WOULD BE SO UPTIGHT ABOUT A SHIFTING PARADYM ( HELP I CANT GET THE SP ON THAT ONE ).ITS THE MOST UNHEARD OF THING --- YOU KNOW THE REST. DONT ALL-YOU - ALL HAVE A WILLARD ROMNEY RALLY TO GO TO.

Research or not, all caps is really hard on the eyes, dude. You can keep writing in it, but I for one will not be reading it. Gives me a headache!

Nonsensical, irrelevant post that has already managed to screech violently off-track to the personal and intimate but utterly boring subject of type case. How anal is that?
And how close to honest critiquing and constructive feedback? A MILLION MILES AWAY, but it had to be mentioned, upper case being so hideously insistent. Maybe that's why the army like it.
Stan's comment about novels should suffice but I can see this laborious mindfuck running and running.
Perhaps newspapers should learn to use upper case, too. At least no one would buy the bloody things.
Next you'll be telling us that clinical research can confirm beyond question that kids prefer bricks to Weetabix and cement to milk for breakfast.

Can I draw your attention to his other topic in 'discuss writing from ABC'.
He called me a racist for questioning his reviewing style. Having just read Stan's comment above I agree this is a wind up. I also just read his 'poem'. Anyone who isn't into American sports won't understand what he is on about, but that has to be a wind up doesn't it?

I think the message is that a number of regular users of this site would like you turn your caps lock off. Otherwise what you say, valid or invalid is going to be lost. I am also, having read much of the body of Shep5377's excellent and balanced work, certain that he was simply making valid points and you have responded emotively in a way that did not lend credibility to your case (upper or lower) whatever that is...
