Now that's what I call a poetry workshop

There are so many amazingly good poets on this site and surely at least one would be selected for this course.
It sounds like an absolutely life-changing cracker.

Below is from the Arvon Foundation's website, advertising the course taking place from 5th to 10th August in Scotland.

"Poetry is what gets lost in translation, said Robert Frost. During this week we will look at different ways of capturing those elusive poetic strands, and pinning them down with language.
This is a selected course, and potential students are invited to apply by sending three poems to Moniack Mhor by June 1st. Final decision will be made by June 15th.

Tutors:

Gillian Clarke has been the National Poet of Wales since 2008. Awarded The Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry 2010, her collections include A Recipe for Water and Ice.

Carol Ann Duffy is the National Poet Laureate. Her collections include the prizewinning The World’s Wife, Rapture and The Bees. www.carolannduffy.co.uk

Guest Robert Minhinnick is a prizewinning novelist and poet. He won the Forward Prize for Best Individual Poem in 1999 and 2003. His New Selected Poems was published in 2012."

Carol Ann Duffy and Gillian Clarke are my heroes.

Smack Patriarchy about a bit, slap it into poetry form and you've got one banging poem already. Another two like that and they'll be baying for your brains. As you may have guessed, it's not often that new talent attracts 39 comments from one piece. In fact, it's very unusual to get more than 20, so you've definitely hit the right cords here. There's no harm in putting together three poems and sending them off.

We haven't all had poems published in the Big Issue Richard - might be worth a crack yourself mate. it sounds brilliant thanks for letting on.

Hi FB, Cheers for your post. I'll give it a go for what it's worth but I'm starting to see plenty of holes in my own work so there'll be no breath-holding.
