Kids these days DON'T READ COPY. They've been sending in stories and poetry by the bucketful but they seem to have missed the fact that there is a competition page- at the moment the diary competition means they can win a fairly impressive folder full of writing/coloured paper- great for school or for a secret diary.... or even up to £1000 worth of computer equipment

Of course if you harry-potter-fied it you might get the responses. Or if you had a number on each person who visited and you randomly picked the number. Then the fun of it might increase. A bit like a raffle. Or if you said that everyone entered just by signing on. A bit like Readers Digest where everyone nearly wins a million dollars.
Seriously, get hold of that JK Rowling woman and tell her this is about getting the kids to read and that the world is full of people who need encouragement.
