British Book Awards.

Got this from my publisher today and wondered if anyone else has been nominated? It's pretty exciting.

Hello Sue,

I spoke to the printer yesterday and he promised delivery to you by Thursday so I trust they arrive in time.

By the way we have been asked to submit titles for The British Book Awards which are being sponsored and televised on Richard and Judy on Channel 4 starting in December. Yours is one of the submitted titles and will initially go on their “long list” of 150. This will come down to 12 eventually. Then they will have ongoing programmes on the awards until the awards ceremony in April next year.

Even if none of our entries win it will bring excellent publicity and I understand all books are to go on the Richard and Judy web site which attracts 250,000 hits a week. More news as we get it.

Wowie zowie! What fantastic news, Sooz! Which book is it that is being put forward? Hearty and well deserved congratulations from us - just don't get your hopes up too high as you know there will be a come down for you. Expect nothing and be delighted at everything. We'l lall vote for you!

Darlin` I couldn't care less if it goes no further. I'm delighted it made the top 150. Hell, I didn't even know it was nominated. It's for Better The Devil You Know (shiny new edit) I've got a new book out yesterday too, so it was quite a day. And tomorrow I've got a booksigning at the Cumbria Authors Festival. Tony, I know this is the wrong place, but I can't log on. Forgot me bleedin` password an user name inn I? and there isn't one of those idiot boxes for people who've forgotten their password. How are you anyway? Haven't spoken to you for ages. Hoep to see you again in London soon.
