Americans are...

Try 'Americans are' in this fascinating suggestible search engine that gives answers based on the most oft repeated phrases out there in internet world..

http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=1&hl=en(link is external)

Is this a reflection of our (the worlds) sum prejudices when it comes to Americans? Is this a reliable way to find out what people really think about each other?

As always things are more complicated than they seem:

Try 'Americans are g' instead and compare numbers with the previous lot.

Still, a fascinating exercise anyway and I look forward to what you creative lot will come up with....

I think we are rapidly moving to a world with NO secrets. Is that a good thing?

Curious search engine! As an expat Yank I find it quite sad that so many bad attributes are associated with my fellow countrypeople (out of curiosity I tried 'Brits' and 'English' and got 'coming' and 'blowing'...?). Like most blanket statements, these are egregiously wrong. It's disturbing: the 2,600,000 searches for 'Americans are stupid' (certainly, we're not ALL stupid, are we? At least 51% of the populace voted for Al Gore in the first usurped Bush 'election' and desperately voted for Kerry in the second...); can one sum up a population of 357 million people with a few short words? It seems, also, to be more generally acceptable to slag off Americans than it would be for me to say, for example, that all Muslims are camel-jockey terrorists. I'm no raging patriot, and I've met quite a few dumb Americans, but then, I've met dumb Brits, dumb Mexicans, dumb Navajo, dumb Bosnians, dumb Thais, dumb Malaysians, etc. etc. ad infinitum. We might have a hegemony, but we don't hold the patent for stupidity! (Did that sound defensive?) I'm not sure we'll ever have a world without secrets, not until we come to a state of evolution where secrets are no longer necessary as a survival tool. While we still get punished in all sorts of ways for the 'truth', we'll keep telling lies...
My God AG, I guess the 'I'm with Stupid' t-shirt was your idea huh? what are you, some kind or moron magnet? (just joshin wid ya there kiddo) Ian is... (in order of popularity) 1: Hot (Tell me something I DON'T know) 2: (nothing, just 'Ian is') 3: Gay (Well I guess I asked for that) Notice I put Ian and not Ely, this is because 'Ely is' produces only two choices: Ely Isle and Ely Island. as an additional note here I always thought Ely Whitley was a googlewhack but it seems there was one Ely Hobson Whitley born Jan 11 1836 in Boone County, Missouri.
The French are... rude, gay, cowards. Apparently.
It's not all wrong then!
