I wasn't quick enough to turn off the news .There was an item about female genital mutilation,an attempt to stop girls living in the UK from being taken back to Africa during the summer.They had a film ,a documentary clip of a 12 year old girl screaaming in pain and terror.The reporters felt they couldn't stop it so they kept filming.The child was just a little older than my daughter.
I felt sick and faint and am still haunted by it.

got sent an execution movie a couple of years back. It was supposed to be some prank...but it hit me so bad that I went into full shock and developed severe insomnia as a result. Couldn't breathe in bed because my throat kept drying/tightening up. Couldn't keep this horrid image from my mind 24/7. The instrument used, the noises, the aftermath...just nothing you could even imagine in your worst nightmares. Everytime I see ANY news article about hostages, terrorists, executions or the like, my tummy sinks, knots up and these images start their familiar, horrifying dance through my mind. It's all my fooking fault for being so sick. It's something I will never shake from my mind for as long as I shall live. It haunts me.
