Writing about human rights

Do any of you write on justice and human rights? I'm a member of Amnesty International (I'm the Chair of the Children's Human Rights Network - about 8,000 UK Amnesty members on the internet) and also a member of Amnesty's Creative Writers' Group which meets the third Thursday evening every month at the Human Rights Action Centre, Shoreditch (10 minutes' walk from Old St and Liverpool St tube stations). We have about 30 members (although only about 6-8 on any particular night) including poets, prose writers, novelists and even a song writer.

I'd be happy to take anyone along as a guest if they're interested or introduce them into the group if they're an Amnesty member.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 19th May at 7pm - we meet for a couple of hours and then go to the pub (or dash for a last train). Get in touch via the forum if you're interested.

Great opportunity. Hope you get some followers. I am all the way in Denmark so I can't join you unfortunately... ;)Pia
Are you interested in swapping writing on human rights with us if we get an e-mail link going? One of the great stalwarts of the international AI Children's Rights Network is Jan Christensen from Copenhagen and the Danish AI Section. He's a wonderful man.

Wow I work just round the corner from the action centre and I'm a long term activist currently with the Chelmsford AI group, I'd love to come along. And I write too.

Please come next Thursday. We meet inside the Action Centre at around 7. I'll give your name to the security desk - you'll either find us waiting there, or you'll be told which room we're in. Any problems, give me a ring (07702 889918)
