Hi there, Actually, I have came across people subbing in coloured fancy fonts before... 8-s
This is a pisstake isn't it? Anyone advertising for "well written" stories (with a twist) containing so many errors is having a laugh. Bobble has pounced on the more obvious but what about these howlers? " We are open to all genres, sf/f/h elements preferred but will consider others." so, anything then. "We want tales that are powerful, emotional, we want pulled off our seats into the tale. " You want toilet humour then; or can you not write in proper sentences. "We are also open for poetry, book reviews, articles, interviews and artwork too." So, despite the "twisted" hook, you will accept anything? I think I might write a book review... one with a twist in the tale...' I didn't like it really' seems to comply. "1. We reserve the right to edit content in addition to any grammatical as we see fit. " A classic, but Bobblehat beat me to it. ". If you have further questions, please contact us at the same e-mail address above. " The word 'same' is superfluous, as, no doubt, will be the submissions. "6. We reserve the right to update these guidelines at any time. " Am literally rolling on the floor laughing. "Dear Mr. Snitcher, Despite your submitted piece, 'You're having a laugh', being very funny, we have to reject it upon grounds we have not before considered, viz this ( lol): Rule 15(b): Unless your work is instant, and from a certain internet school of writing, it may have to be percolated through our editors, old bean. "9. Please stick to the guidelines." What, like, anything goes? "Fiction: Please put ‘Fiction Sub’ in the subject line. Maximum word count 5k, for longer pieces please query first. Multiple submissions accepted up to 3." So, 5k isn't the maximum, then? "Poetry: Please put ‘Poetry Sub’ in the subject line. Maximum length 30 lines, but will consider longer pieces. Multiple submissions accepted up to 5." Wow, there you go rhymers, you are free to submit five 100 line slam submissions in one go. "Articles: Please put ‘Articles Sub’ in the subject line. All articles must be writing or art related." Not sf/f/h related? Tsk. "Book Reviews: Please put ‘Review Sub’ in the subject line." Should it be s/sf/h related or will anything be considered? "Artwork: Please put ‘Art Sub’ in the subject line. " That's in case you happen to be reviewed by "the stupid editor" "B&W preferred, but will consider colour." Nice to see anti-apartheid views finally spreading to the small-minded press. " Please email images as JPEG, GIF or BMP format." So, idiots, no more sending art in Word files, okay? "Payment: We are a new magazine so unfortunately at this moment in time we cannot afford to pay for any contributions. Hopefully this will change in the near future." No it won't. "We are usually open to submissions year round." Either you are or you are not. What do you mean by 'usually' or is that grammatical as you see fit? "If you are an author, artist, or publisher etc. with something to promote or would just like to be interviewed for the magazine, please email us." Are you sure? Shouldn't you have added sf/f/h to the above categories? :-) snitcher
