Love that couldn't/shouldn't be

(Don't worry, I'm not going to confess anything here)

Since Shakespear wrote Romeo and Juliet, there have been various characters in literature - and real life of course - who's love for each other couldn't or shouldn't be, mainly, but not always, because their "tribes" or "gangs" were warring:

Maria & Tony in West Side Story
Pocahontas & Captain John Smith
Little White Dove & Running Bear (Johnny Preston)
Wallace Simpson & Edward VIII
