What book do you want to be and what book do you fear you are?

Imagine, for a moment that you are a book.

A book that already exists.

What book would you hope to be and why?

Also, what book do you fear you are?

For me, at the moment I hope I am:

The Rules of Attraction by Bret Easton Ellis because I am disordered, fragmented, confused and trying to rise above my own meagre understanding of events

I fear that I am more like:

If Only... by Geri Halliwell because I am disordered, fragmented, confused and trying to rise above my own meagre understanding of events.

And also shit.

Anyone else?

Cheers,

Mark

I hope to be 'The Blind Watchmaker' by Richard Dawkins because I'm complicated but expressed elegantly. :) I fear I'm The Catcher in the Rye ..lol There's nothing more mind-teasing than the incomprehensible eagerly avowed - Dennett

I suspect I'm probably regarded as any novel by Jane Austin you'd care to mention - in a caustic, sitting at the back and sniping type way. I'd like to be any novel by Will Self - overrated and smug - but successfully maintaining a place of esteem due to remaining unread!
I'd like to be like The Handmaid's Tale, intelligent, trendy, and popular with girls. Instead I'm more like The Sound And The Fury, intelligent, difficult to get onw ith, and largely ignored.
