Playwriting

Hello

I wonder if anyone can help me. I have tried to post a scene from a play on the site but I copied and then tried to paste it as normal but when I did, the format was all over the place. It would have taken too much time to try to get it back into its proper format and I am just wondering what I did wrong or if anyone else has had this trouble. If so were they able to get over it?

Thank you

Hi Denzella, If you write on a Mac then this could be the issue. I have had the same problem when trying to paste from a document which was not first saved as a word document. The formatting for Mac is the issue I suspect. Just save in word and when you preview you will be able to see whether there is still an issue.

Hello Lavadis, Thank you for replying to my question but I do not use a Mac. However, I will try doing what you suggest if that is not what I am already doing. I can't now remember what it was I did. sorry about this disjointed message but keep hitting wrong keys.

Hi Moya, the few times I have posted screenplays with cast listing, scenes and dialogue have been a disaster too. I think I know what you mean, the formatting (script format) comes out all over the place and I have spent ages manually editing to get it right - pain in the arse. The same when you want to pattern/format a poem. I reckon I need advice too. sue

Hello Sue, Yes, it is so frustrating when you see your work all over the place especially if one has already spent ages trying to get the format as near perfect as one can. The editor, Tony, said people do post scenes from plays so there must be a way. Thanks for your input,Sue, someone might be able to ride to our rescue! Moya
