Welcome aboard writing friend! Please feel free to look around and heres a couple tips to get some views on this site:
1. Always submit anything good, bad, or royally fucked up but dont give up. Ive wrote about 50 or so poems and such and only got two noteworthy ones. Practice makes perfect with a side of criticism.
2. For gods sake, be sure to double check your story is placed in the right catagory and if you need a critique post it on general discussion/discuss work board. My ass has been chewed out a few times about this.
3. Dont expect ten thousand views a day and get in the right writing group. Some go this way some go that way. Great minds think alike.
4. Be annoyingly positive to fellow writers work, be kindly critical to your own.

I'd just move discretely around the site and read and comment and generally socialize and become familiar. NO writing group but as far as I know there is a competition in the making for early next year. Prose.
Good Luck and welcome!
Welcome.
I think Chinobus means strat to find members who's work you admire and follow them by posting comments. They will usually reciprocate and that sort of becomes a lose and informal 'group'. Like Highhat say you don't actualy join a group.
Even if you don't feel confident I recommend that you comment on work that you read (no platitudes, just try to be positive). You will learn through doing this and your own work will benefit as well.
Good luck.
In the words of LaFonz scratch "Ehhh!" Im a half assed poet and motivational hate writer. As said above find writers with similar interests and keep in touch. Best wishes writing friend.
