'We shouldn't be so harsh on

Posted on Fri, 24 Dec 2021

'We shouldn't be so harsh on Boris Johnson. He's done such a lot to revive the Dickensian way of celebrating Christmas,' said Bob Cratchit's son, Tiny Tim.

Posted on Tue, 07 Dec 2021

I read news like this almost every day. It's sickening that an uncaring world can push people to the point where they have to risk their lives in this way. How bad must the life be that they are trying to escape from for them to accept that...

I really enjoyed your poem Rhiannon. It hadn't crossed my mind that adults speaking in code in front of their kids was a form of keeping things secret. I remember it being a struggle with my kids, and then an even bigger struggle when they...

Fog horn fever

Thanks very much Di. I'll be grand. Worse things have happened at sea... which is what I used to say when I was at sea... which is probably why I wasn't at sea very long.

There's nothing more mournful than a fog horn. I lived in Barry in...

The Cartographer's Tale

Posted on Tue, 12 Nov 2024

Maps are like rainbows. They never truly end, even though we think they do. Wander off the edge of the map and you never know what adventure you'll find... maybe even a crock of gold.

Lovely words Paul. They make me want to go to a distant...

Well done dear Jenny!

That's quite a story! And I can understand your anxiety. I'm not all that fond of hospitals so if and when the time comes I think I'd prefer to do my own hip operation at home in the kitchen.

You were very brave to go through with it,...
