Grandad's paddle
Grandad went for a paddle
He must have been out of his head
He slipped, hit his head on a pebble
So now poor Grandad is dead
They pulled him out of the briny
Tried to resuscitate
Grandma said, "Leave the old beggar
Because it just serves him raight
They thumped and they thumped on his sternum
Tried to give kiss of life
They all argued and shouted
You'd have cut the air with a knife
Grandma said, "It's no use mourning
He knew that one day he would dee
But it really was a great pity -
He only went in for a pee."
raight = Yorkshire for right
dee = Yorkshire for die
