Shattered dreams like broken glass
Hopes and desires smashed
Expectations blown away
I stood staring - unable to move
Tiny fragments of myself on the ground
Glittering, then turning black
I am desolate, alone, betrayed
Feel emotions - raw - powerful
Desperation and rage
Set inside me
My heart is stone
Sinking to my knees
I am so tired and weak
A dark silence gathers around me
Something glitters
In the distance - I can barely see
Is it an illusion?
Crawling, it seems to take hours
I search and search
Was it real?
I can not think
Then it is before me
A tiny shard, still shining
So small, yet it is there
A glimmer of hope
A piece of a dream
Sparkling
Was there a chance?
Could I begin again?
Relief
