Abbey Love

from the ABC set Andrée's poems

Pounding hearts
‘neath ancients’ gaze
are joined in wonder,
love and praise.

Whispered prayers
of soul’s lament -
is longed for union
the Lord’s intent?

Hungering spirit
its mate to find,
yields in favour
of love divine.

Love’s first glow
as tribute bring;
choosing only
His song to sing.

Wills surrendered
in arms entwined;
seek His glory,
His light to shine.

Solemn vows
to fast and pray;
to seal God’s blessing
in coming days.
