Keep talking by all means,
then you won't have to
listen at all.
Your self-obsessed verse
demonstrates your
vacuity.
Introspective isn't
the only view we have
available.
Grow up! Look outward - at
least as far as your
inner circle.
You're so wound up in you
that you're missing the
important thing.
Me.

I think it works. A lot of poetry is about the poet but we are all more or less self-centered so we identify with him/her. Hope this makes sense.

i think that's funny! personal is political, write what you know, it's all autobiography, I is the other, we is all one, and etcetc other quotes and expressions, especially the badly translated - consideration of others brings your own happiness to you - thanks for sharing! lol, its a good poem xx

Write about what you know best I suppose, it's funny but I wrote a poem this week thinking everyone would know who I was talking about as he was such a high profile personality, I didn't want to be too obvious so I didn't go OTT. I got 7 comments on how good the poem was but not 1 person guessed who I was on about. I guess at the end of the day it's what hits closest to home that interests people most. I think your work is very good, I've been reading lots of it, so expect more comments. Val x
