Autumn leaves IP

The Northern Hemisphere is tilting
Further away from the sun
The days are shorter
The nights colder
leaves have been blown from trees
soggy, rain-drenched , yellow and brown
they lay scattered about the countryside
Smelling sweet and earthy
Clinging to boots
until Jack Frost arrives this Autumn
when they are turned into crisp soulful
works of nature crunching under foot
slowly decaying in Mother Nature’s cycle
