You’ll be there,
On the other side;
Just across the water.

I think of you,
Sitting on the edge;
Waiting.

I want to reach out.
To connect.
We meet often
Only in my head.

I cannot bridge the gap.
I do not meet your eye.
Lost in the crowd,
Feel my feet rushing by.

Caught in the current
Swept away with the flow
Too ashamed
To slow.

You watch; invisible,
Unseen,
Drifting.

Resting on the pavement,
Falling through the cracks;
Dreams collapsed,
No way back,
Trapped.

I long to give my hand,
To understand.
Each time
I cry.

I liked this tale of submerged love.

"...Caught in the current
Swept away with the flow..."

You never know, you may float to the other side.

And a go at a rhyme, loose but effective.

I enjoyed this well expressed poem.
Stanza
Resting on the pavement,
Falling through the cracks;
Dreams collapsed,
No way back,
Trapped.

Very good. Strongly evocative of something, even though I'm not sure what.
