Uncle David

I was very sorry to hear of the death
of your uncle.
I spoke to David often
and he loved to tell me about his three
special nieces.

Christmas will be hard for you
it will be odd not to have his Landrover
parked on your driveway
and it will be strange not to have his labrodors
barking at your letterbox.

My advice to you is to think of the times he made you happy
those sandcastles he built when we were in Bridlington
the hat he wore
at Graham and Elaine's wedding
and the time he collected the Indian takeaway
dressed as an astronaut.
