Worn down Mum

from the ABC set Families

“Aw, Mummy, where’s my dummy?
I won’t whine all the time,
with my dummy, Mummy!”

“Aw, Mummy, that’s not yummy,
I want sweets in my tummy, Mummy!
I won’t whine all the time,
with some yummy sweets, Mummy!”

Whinge, and whine all the time:
Mum is weary, cross and teary:

Rat! tat! tat! Want a chat?
a friendly face to cheer, and steer
from the moans, and wear and tear,
bringing fresh ideas to bear,
firm and jolly: tensions disappear!

This one really made me smile, Rhiannon..and some;-)

I distinctly remember my mum taking me outside in the garden to our dustbin and making me throw it in. I was four, so I don't think it was before time, and I can't say I blamed her;-)

Much enjoyed. You brightened a dreary, grey day. Thank you, Rhiannon;-)

Glad you enjoyed and could empathise! I help with 'Home Start' as a volunteer with one family I get on very well with, but listening to other volunteers and the organisers, I think the feeling behind the organisation is how often a fresh face coming in to a tired family can be very refreshing! thank you for reading and commenting. I sympathise too with your long-term occupation with your children! Perseverance and prayer, and thankful for the happy times, Rhiannon
