Affairs of December

The snow is murky
no longer white
as it fights the rain for
distinction
and comes down
like flatulence seeking
destination.
No help from willows
once filled with
green since
last month’s wind
erupted
nor the ground upon
which summer’s
softness
may accommodate.
Yet a mixture of seasons
is not an option
thus the snow will
melt or
perhaps accumulate.
