Almost Made My Day

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

He moves forward with
a determined sprint
anxious to celebrate his new-found
energy, the doctor mesmerized by
figures showing a remarkable
change from his BP reading last week

guess the prescription is doing its job.

Ah the ladder, just where he put it last time
back of the church under
the shelter covering the oil drum,
a hidden cave away from the elements

easily grasps the end of the aluminum ladder
careful not to slash his skin from sharp edges,
eases it down then clattering across
the lawn lays it restfully against the shed

thought about this all---during am early light--
get the ladder,
lay it against the shed, climb and view
the Cardinal nest, high enough to see
any young
from fifteen feet high.

And he does---climb---up the ladder.

I found this really intruiging, Richard, and some good images. Certainly unusual. Much enjoyed.
