I Cry, You Speak

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

From my knees
I see blood dripping,
Yours--
how it falls slowly
the energy draining from Your
earthly body
surrounded by guards, friends and
family.

Yet we know from those days of
exultation,
of miracles and wisdom
through parables
knowing Your Word is above
all else
our tears mingling with Your blood,
a rejuvenation
the glory of your suffering,
belief that this physical expression
bent and broken on the cross
will be replaced.

It is finished--Your last words, yet we
know the truth
and we await a triumphant journey
of Your return.

I liked this, especially the very first stanza.

I was kind of reading it as metaphoric piece detailing a relationship breakup at first; it's great that you can read it in this way in addition to its more spiritual way.

Thank you very much, galeforce7, for your kind comments. I wished to make it a parallel journey within Christ's earthly mission and His spiritual one. Cheers, Richard LP
