Maple Syrup Time

Backed up
to earth's
rising edge,
tall maple-growth
straddles
hill's gentle embrace,
sap's running and
buckets are full,
spring's nectar
along the Glooscap.

Yes, prayers are so wonderful to express. It brings one into direct communion with God. Since my stroke, and as I recover, each day is so precious. My striving is to try and be a better, kinder person. My poetry is an expression of the wonderful world around us. Each of my written thoughts is to encourage others to keep appreciating what is around them, especially Nature, and to try and overcome any adversity. The above poem is in thanks for friends who allowed me to work on their little maple syrup operation. What a delight. Richard LP
