Pausing as a summer
Shrug canoes are
Hushed as evening bats
In carefree slumber
Aside the
Lakeshore sunset rays
Are a-blaze
In colourful shades
Honoured guests
We are this
Breathless night
Ears attuned to a pair
Of calling loons
Eerie serenades
From an ancient past.

Hi Richard,
I do love your nature poetry, here is another
great example of how you see nature and told
in such a beautiful poetic way.
Thankyou for sharing.
Jenny.

Thank you very much, Jenny. Where else does someone sneak off to when the hush of peace and tranquility await---the woods of course. I'm posting another, check it out. Richard LP
