Time and Movement

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 3

The rain is more than
a splatter of commotion
outside my window
pane, fat sloppy drops

covering the roadway
the sidewalk, and
turning our grass into

a speedway with dew
worms scrambling
from caverns filling
with rampaging water.

Crows cower, shingles
shake and a little boy
at his window wonders
where all the water
comes from.
