Hope is for the forsaken
don't be taken
in by your dreams
it will not be the same when you wake

a sharp cut
dirt infiltrates the blood

the weeds don't scream
as you extricate them

sweat cools the red sizzling skin

rich taste of iron
as you suck the blood in

look at your finger
allow the last to linger
before wiping it away
and carrying on and carrying on and carrying on

time dwindles and falters
a spinning top

hopeful it will end
dreaming of a cut in the endless loop.
