No stuff please
Please don’t give me anything to keep,
I’ll only damage or wreck the wares you see.
Please don’t give me gifts you’ve bought,
In my care they’ll only end up in disrepair.
Please don’t give me stuff to look after
I don’t have the time and patience you’re after.
Please don’t give me stuff you love
I may not love it too
I’ll only cause distress and wounds I can’t heal.
Please. Keep stuff away from me.
Trust me.
I’m no good at maintain and repair,
I’m useless at protecting and loving stuff.
Please don’t waste money on my behalf,
Stuff stresses me, tenses me.
Broken, hurt, lost and I can’t fix that
The cost of the loss is too high you see.
No matter your intention
Or your desire to display
Please keep all that stuff far away
Just say: I love you lots
And that’s all the stuff covered
Without a single box,
Without any harm, panic or loss.
If you will, then simply
Give me the things money can’t buy
A note that shows you remembered
A loving hello
And a loving hug good bye.

I started reading this and wasn't sure where it was going, until the last two verses, which then opened it up completely! I really enjoyed this, what great words and well written.

I actually can't stand clutter... much more interested in the real, simple stuff that matters :-) Thanks so much for your continued encouragement. God Bless!

I love the thoughts behind this poem, the sentiment if you like, it does seems to have a bit of a random rhyme scheme, my brain kept trying to capture the flow, then losing it, having said that, I liked it a lot.
