Saturday morning; countless cars go unwashed,
thousands clamour to escape paradise,
missing the mundane
in a world suddenly too big.
A star spangled six year old takes anti-depressants,
A less fortunate counterpart finds joy in the container
beneath a yellow sun.
A prince almost drowns in champagne
reminding us we DO have a Monarchy.
I chide myself for leaving a light on.

Sums up a lot of things of today/ sometimes depressing. We keep drawing boundaries and pushing them. I suppose that is progress.Yes well said Shirley xx

Very well put.
I completely agree.
6 year old depressants.
I am surprised! what
4- years old on are speaking
to parents,or whoe ever
partner's.demanding what
they want in a kind of rude
way,on buses,in shops
"I am right"?Manner.
" I want,"I will".and we
give all we can, most have the best so yourng.
My father always said they can make or break marriages once, sometimes true.
sign of the times.
I exspect I will get
quite a few comments on this.

Thanks all, I'm suprised at how astounded I am by these stories, there seems to be new ones every day! I guess when I stop being astounded is the day I stop caring, it's wearing though.

A lesson in priorities if ever there was. Very stark and very well written.

Thank you David, The BBC telling us not to wash our cars because the volcanic ash would scratch the paintwork, says it all really.

I really enjoyed this. Great from start to finish. There is a lot to be said for how we conduct ourselves in life.
The BBC told you not to wash your cars? Interesting.
