Lip Service

We get together,
have a beer or three,
read the Bible.
Turn to Matthew 5:32.

We slip out of the room,
I slip inside of her.
I stay inside her.
Turn to James 3:14.

We finish for today.
Handshakes, farewells.
A hug between us, too long,
so she kisses him to hide it.

Next week we're back again.
A lovely ring she wears today,
it looks better in her pocket.
