Clothed in good manners;
dressed for the winds of rejection
but ready to disrobe,
should the grey ambiguous atmosphere
be broken by pearly beams,
suggesting stormy heat,
moist sheets
and dam breaking floods
coming
before morning.
Clothed in good manners;
dressed for the winds of rejection
but ready to disrobe,
should the grey ambiguous atmosphere
be broken by pearly beams,
suggesting stormy heat,
moist sheets
and dam breaking floods
coming
before morning.

This is deceptively simple, and I love it!

Different from your usual style, Chris but this is by no means a bad thing! I like the effect of the separate lines. There is a lot of restraint in this poem which leaves the reader begging for more details ;)

Thanks Magic, chuffed with another unexpected cherry. I left a gap in the lines so that you could read between them ;) ;) Thanks for reading.
