He smoked his pipe day and night
Henry had a wife name Clarabelle
They lived in a small cottage near a brook
Clarabelle cured the sick with her plants and herbs

The wife bought the bread and wine
The man sat all day in his chair out of sight
Clarabelle would clean the house up and down
Put food at the table she did
Henry would knock her once or twice on the head
Cry out loud she did
Henry was a sad man
