The Dogs

The dogs rule this town
make
no
mistake about it

Arrogantly
they stroll along the cobbles
ears pricked
tails high and proud

The little fucks
have better jackets than I do

With their glassy eyes
and shiny fur feet
they manipulatively shove
old folk
about the day

Baby talk flows
from human faces
admiration and adoration
greets
the little sergeants at every turn

They are the children
of the rich
the companions
for the poor
the advisors of the elderly
and security
at the door

Their faeces
cake the pavements
and the sun sets
to the opera
of the
howl

make
no
mistake about it

the dogs rule this town

Hey fella! It was worth the smell of doggie-do from the shoe-pile under the bed. Nice one!
