Electro Boots / Bathtub on a Railway

Stranded in another bus station
and it’s rain outside too
the faces around look lost
and anonymity
begins to wash over you
There’s no seats available for hours
ankles feel stiff
in the never ending queue of horrors
the afternoon just passed
already feels like a distant hazy dream
flown in on crystal Camden wings
memories sparkling on wet concrete
and under bridges
Time hangs
like your plastic bag
swinging full of yellow wax
and hair sleeps
inside your hat
as a small child dances
lit by dull counter light
We used to be young too
what happened?
etcetera etcetera
Then before we realise
we’re passing homes in the night
gliding through concrete oceans deep
just a limp form of happiness
in the shadow of a whale
heading west again
