Sunday turns itself slowly
around my neck
unscrewing all the elements
of guilt
I have within
floating
like the fragments of egg
in a pan full of oily water
waiting in my sink
Last night replays again
and
again
Two pigeons take their positions
upon the cold concrete ledge
where they always like to meet
and make love
Balanced in awkward unison
just outside my window
they remind me
how
disgusting life can be
I recall her tears
and draw on my smoke
