Smudge

Some Mondays
I do very little all morning
well…
that is to say
I do very little
of what I’m supposed to do
all morning

Why is this I wonder?
do I have no respect,
for the people that pay me?
do I lack a certain degree of understanding,
when it comes to responsibility?

No.
I don’t think so

I guess I just enjoy smudging lines
- even if it means
sometimes I stain my fingers

You see
I realise I didn’t draw the line
and I know
I can’t erase it completely
but
to smudge it
without being caught
well,
it just makes me smile
and I don’t need to respect
the people that subsidised my coffee table
in order to do that
